Google Pixel Watch owners are reporting a sharp and sudden drop in battery life. Reportedly, watches that once ran for 24 to 48 hours are now dying in less than 12 hours. The issue does not appear to affect every device. But complaints have spread across Reddit and other forums, with owners of Pixel Watch 2, 3, 4 and 5 describing similar problems.
Several users say the battery falls by about 10 percent every hour. Others report losing 20 percent in a few hours, even when the watch sits idle and the Always-On Display remains switched off.
One Pixel Watch 2 owner said the device previously lasted close to 48 hours on a charge. After the problem began, it lasted only 12 hours. A Pixel Watch 4 owner reported a similar fall, from two to two-and-a-half days to less than one day.
The scale of the drain suggests more than normal wear on an ageing battery. Owners say the change happened abruptly, often within the past few days.
The reports point to a software-side issue rather than widespread hardware failure. Users suspect a recent Wear OS update, a background process or a third-party app is forcing the watch to work harder than it should.
Google has not yet confirmed the cause. As of now, the tech giant has not announced a dedicated patch or an official workaround.
Tech publications tracking the complaints say the problem affects devices across several Pixel Watch generations. That pattern strengthens the case for a software trigger, since battery cells do not usually degrade at the same time across different models.
Google now faces growing pressure to acknowledge the issue and release a fix. Until then, affected owners must choose between reduced usage, repeated charging or a full reset.
