OnePlus is set to launch two new smartphones in China this week. The company has confirmed that OnePlus Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro are coming on June 10. After revealing the design last week, the company has now announced the official launch date. Ahead of the event, several key details about both devices have also been confirmed.

OnePlus has opted for a different route than many recent smartphone launches. Instead of focusing on cameras and AI features, the popular brand is working on improving battery life and performance. This strategic shift could make the Turbo 6X series stand out in a market filled with look-alike devices.

OnePlus Turbo 6X Series Launches on June 10

The two smartphones come with powerful hardware and large batteries. The standard Turbo 6X carries the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super chipset. It packs a 7,000mAh battery and features an LCD display within budget.

The Turbo 6X Pro steps things up with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Super processor. It also gets a huge 8,000mAh battery and a 1.5K AMOLED display.

Both phones will be available in multiple color options with a glossy finish. The camera is another important aspect, and OnePlus models feature a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP secondary camera.

The Battle for Bigger Batteries Continues

The trend is not limited to OnePlus; over the last few years, brands such as Redmi, iQOO, and Realme have increased their battery capacities. There was a time when 5,000 mAh was considered sufficient battery capacity for the average user. Nowadays, mobile devices are shipped with capacities of 7,000mAh or 8,000mAh.

As technology has improved, so too has the design of batteries. This motivated manufacturers to have larger batteries that have little or no noticeable impact on the size or weight of the mobile device.

Advances in battery technology have made this possible. Manufacturers can now fit larger batteries into phones without making them noticeably thicker or heavier.

Battery Life Matters More Than Ever

Battery life remains one of the most important factors for many buyers when it comes to choosing a smartphone. Cameras and AI tools are important, but buyers still like to invest in models that last all day.

Another factor that fueled the growth of bigger batteries is mobile gaming. Streaming through a smartphone or playing games for hours requires a large battery. As a result, demand for long-lasting devices continues to grow.

The Turbo 6X series seems to be OnePlus’ answer to that demand. The company is not focusing on flashy add-ons, but on something people use every day. If the new phones deliver the battery life OnePlus is promising, they might appeal to buyers looking for a reliable phone that lasts longer between charges.
