The wait for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is almost over. Activision has confirmed that the game's multiplayer beta will begin in August. Players who pre-order the game can join the early access beta from August 21 to 25. The open beta will follow from August 28 to September 1, giving everyone another chance to play.

When the beta test begins on August 21, players who have pre-ordered the game on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S will get early access. Following that, when it goes live again on August 24, Nintendo Switch 2 players will join the mix.

Players who buy the game before launch will receive early access through a 13-character beta code. Once the open beta starts, players can redeem that code on the callofduty.com/betaredeem site and jump into the action instantly. Players will also need an Activision account and an internet connection to take part.

What Players Can Look Forward to

The beta will give players an early look at several multiplayer maps, game modes, and weapons. Though Activision has not yet mentioned what the game is about to bring, the announcement post has revealed, “Get ready to drop into multiple multiplayer maps and modes, choosing from a wide selection of brand-new Operators, including all the Vault Edition Operators for players who pre-order the Vault Edition, and unlocking as many as 19 different weapons before deploying into everything from small-scale 3v3 skirmishes to massive tactical battles featuring tanks and more.”

Beta tests help developers understand the areas of improvement. Player feedback helps them make the changes accordingly and fix bugs. This is an important part for any developer studio before the launch of the final version of a globally acclaimed title.

Countdown to Launch Begins

The beta is only the beginning of Modern Warfare 4's launch plan. Over the next few weeks, Activision is expected to share more trailers, gameplay videos, and details about different game modes. More information about pre-order bonuses and special editions could also arrive before release.

Players may expect information about the season 1 Battle Pass, launch maps, and day-one content. A successful beta will give the developers time to fix problems before release and build excitement ahead of launch. If everything goes as planned, Modern Warfare 4 could begin its new season with a strong start.
