Is WhatsApp working on a new subscription plan called WhatsApp Plus? If the latest reports are to be believed, then the new feature could offer users additional customization options. Buzz is strong that the paid plan is already under development for both Android and iOS devices.
According to reports shared by WABetaInfo, the proposed subscription will focus on visual personalization and interface tweaks. Core messaging services will remain free for all users.
The platform will continue to allow people to send messages, make voice and video calls, and share media without any payment. The subscription is designed for users who want more control over the app’s appearance and organization.
One of the expected features in WhatsApp Plus is a higher limit for pinned chats. The current WhatsApp version enables users to pin three chats, which remain visible at the top of their chat list. The subscription would permit users to pin 20 essential chats, which they can access at any time.
The premium plan will provide users with multiple options to customize their interface. Users can change the app’s theme, adjust accent colors, and choose from around 14 different app icons. These options would allow users to personalize the application's look to their preferences.

Reports indicate that WhatsApp’s subscription service will provide users with special ringtones that composers created exclusively for WhatsApp calls. The new sounds will enable users to identify incoming app calls via phone notifications and provide more sound options than the existing default ringtones.
The company is also exploring additional features, including subscriber-only stickers and advanced message reaction options. The features will enable users to create unique chat experiences through their personalized interactions.
The subscription is expected to remain optional if it launches. WhatsApp does not plan to place core messaging tools behind a paywall.
Pricing details and the official release timeline have not been announced. The final list of features may also change before the subscription becomes available.
