Meta has bought Conductor, a startup that helps developers run several AI coding agents at the same time. Charlie Holtz, founder and CEO of Conductor, shared the news on the company's blog on November 4, 2026. Meta confirmed the deal but did not say how much it paid.
Holtz said Conductor will join Meta. He also said new things for customers are coming by early 2027. He added that he is keen to work with Alexandr Wang, Meta's chief AI officer, and Nat Friedman, who leads product at Meta Superintelligence Labs.
An AI coding startup, Conductor started in 2024. Its tool lets engineers split a software job among many AI agents. Each agent works in its own space, so the work does not clash. One agent can write code, while another can run tests, and the third can handle a different part of the project. The engineer watches over all of them from one place.
Conductor does not build its own AI models. It uses models from firms like OpenAI and Anthropic. Developers can run their agent teams in the cloud, on their own computers, or on a phone.

The deal fits Meta's push into AI coding tools. In August 2026, the company launched its own coding agent, called Muse Code. Meta says its new Muse agents now have more than 10 million users. Over the past year, it has also bought other AI firms, including the agent platform Moltbook.
Users of Conductor should note some dates. Its cloud service will close on November 20, 2026. After that, the company will start deleting cloud data. The main features will keep working until early 2027
Big tech firms are racing to build tools that let many AI agents work together on code. Conductor gives Meta a ready-made product and a team that knows this space well. How Meta uses it will become clearer in early 2027, when Holtz says the first updates will arrive.
