MapmyIndia has announced that its flagship Mappls app now includes multimodal public transport routes. Thanks to the upgrade, users will be able to access information about bus, train, and metro routes directly in the app.
The company argues that the inclusion of public transport routes reinforces Mappls’ status as a complete, multimodal mobility platform which connects private and public transport experiences on a single, fully indigenous maps and navigation app.
Currently, it is available on iOS and the web; Android will be the last platform to support it. The public transport feature is an excellent addition to Mappls' existing functions that include smart routing, turn-by-turn navigation, real-time traffic updates, and safety notifications.
Among the cities in which the service is available are Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Indore, Patna, Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Jaipur, Kochi, and Bhopal.
By making public transport information readily accessible, Mappls is not only helping its users but also the environment, encouraging the adoption of mass transit, reducing the use of personal vehicles, and thereby lowering emissions and creating cleaner cities.

Rakesh Varma, co-founder, chairman, and MD of MapmyIndia Mappls, in response to the launch, said, “The launch of multimodal public transport routes on the Mappls App is a direct outcome of listening to our users.
We want the Mappls App to be more inclusive and accessible for every citizen. As a fully indigenous platform built in India for India, Mappls remains committed to supporting sustainable urban mobility by seamlessly integrating public transport into everyday navigation.”
MapmyIndia Mappls, through its platform, prompts people in the city to use public transport. Plan their daily commuting, thus lowering pollution and making city travel smarter and more efficient.
