Apple’s latest M6 Mac Mini has received its first major price cut, with Amazon reducing the price of the new desktop by more than USD 100 as part of its October Prime Day deals. The base model, which normally sells for USD 899, is currently available for USD 779.99. The discount brings the price closer to what buyers paid for the previous-generation Mac Mini. The discount arrived only weeks after the M6 Mac Mini went on sale in September.
The deal applies to the entry-level configuration with 16GB of memory and 256GB of storage. Apple launched the M6 Mac Mini at a higher starting price than its predecessor, making the current discount particularly notable for shoppers considering the latest Apple silicon desktop.
The new Mac Mini is powered by Apple’s M6 chip, featuring a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU. It also includes a dual 16-core Neural Engine and Neural Accelerators designed to handle demanding graphics and AI-related workloads.
The discounted configuration features 16GB of unified memory and a 256GB SSD. It is aimed at users who want a compact desktop for everyday productivity, coding, creative applications and other demanding workloads without moving to Apple’s more expensive Mac Studio lineup.
According to Apple, the M6 Mac Mini delivers up to 40% faster CPU performance, twice the graphics performance and up to four times faster AI performance compared with the previous-generation system under its specified testing conditions.
