IFA 2026 in Berlin is putting household robots, ultra-thin computers and local AI hardware in the spotlight as manufacturers explore ways to automate everyday tasks and move more computing closer to users. The event runs from September 4 to 8 and covers consumer electronics and appliances, with personal AI and household robotics among its key themes.
Dyson announced the R1 Nurovi Dry and R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry on September 3. The company says both robots use dust and floor sensors to adjust their cleaning behavior, while extending side sweepers help them reach edges.
The R2 includes triangular washing pads designed to reach corners, along with a dock that automatically washes and dries them. Dyson says these features extend the cleaning workflow handled by the machines, although their effectiveness remains a company claim.
Lenovo’s Project AeroBlade is a proof-of-concept laptop featuring a 14-inch OLED display, a body under 10mm thick and a weight below 830g. Its Active Flow thermal system, developed with Frore Systems, replaces conventional fans with AirJet solid-state active cooling.

Lenovo says the design could offer benefits for sustained performance, noise, and dust intake. However, its September 3 announcement did not provide comparative test results establishing those gains.
Oukitel’s RG14-P takes a different approach to mobility with solar charging. The rugged computer features 15W solar charging, a removable battery and a 1,000-nit touchscreen.
The device had previously appeared at MWC, where Oukitel listed 10W solar charging and roughly six hours to reach 50% battery. The differing ratings leave questions over whether the hardware changed and which charging conditions apply.
Anker’s MindBase connects Anker and Matter-compatible devices, runs agents using a built-in AI Core compute card and offers expandable local storage of up to 48TB. Home security is its first application.
Anker said the MindBase Security Kit will launch later in 2026, with pricing to be announced closer to availability.
Across robotics, computers and smart-home systems, IFA 2026 shows manufacturers moving toward more automation and local processing. For consumers, however, performance, availability, pricing, privacy and software support will determine how useful these technologies become in everyday life.
