Microsoft has released its latest Windows 11 Update (version 25H2), just one day after the non-security update for Windows 11 version 24H2. This update includes a wide range of improvements to enhance usability and increase productivity.

Although the upgrade is available to all users, some are not experiencing it all at once, since many of the new features are still being rolled out in phases.

If a system doesn’t show all the updates, there’s a quick way to unlock everything manually using a small utility called ViveTool.

Step-by-Step Guide to Enable New Features

Before starting, ensure your PC is running Windows 11 version 25H2 or version 24H2 or newer. These updates came out in September and October 2025; if you are running these versions, you will be able to access new features. Once verified, download ViveTool from GitHub and extract it to a convenient folder.

  • Press Win alongside R, type cmd, and press Ctrl, Shift, and Enter to open Command Prompt as an administrator.

  • Navigate to the ViveTool folder using the CD command (for example, CD C:\Vive).

  • Type vivetool /enable /id:57048226 and press Enter.

  • Restart your PC to apply the changes.

Once your computer restarts, you will see that the new Windows 11 features introduced by KB5065789 and the October 2025 Patch Tuesday updates are all enabled.

What’s New in Windows 11 25H2

Among the highlights are improved context menus in File Explorer, dark mode for the Run dialog, and better placement options for on-screen hardware indicators. The update also adds the ability to input em and en dashes more easily, enhanced gamepad functionality (holding a button now opens Task View), and refined Settings integrations, replacing older Control Panel items.

Users with dual monitors can finally open the Notification Center from their secondary display, a slight but long-awaited quality-of-life improvement.

What’s Next for Windows 11 Users

Windows 11’s 2025 Update is expected to introduce an upgraded Start menu, along with additional UI refinements. The rollout will be phased, but ViveTool will still be an excellent tool for turning on the new features in advance.

With version 25H2, Microsoft continues evolving Windows 11, blending stability, design polish, and forward-looking features for a smoother everyday experience.
