US airlines are turning to artificial intelligence to manage ticket prices and increase revenue. At the same time, AI agents also help passengers to book tickets when the fare is the lowest. Renowned services, including JetBack, Junova, and Refare, have monitored ticket prices and help travelers claim refunds or flight credits. This means passengers no longer need to check airline websites every day to find a better deal.
These services have gained attention after US airlines removed change fees on many non-refundable tickets following the COVID-19 pandemic. Junova reported that around 22% of 10,000 flights it tracked between September 2025 and July 2026 saw at least one price drop. Around 40% of these flights recorded more than one drop. JetBack has also recovered USD 2.4 million in refunds and credits since early 2025.
Regarding this matter, Bryan Dubno, founder of JetBack has mentioned, “Airlines have spent decades investing in incredibly sophisticated pricing technology, while consumers are still expected to do the equivalent of refreshing a webpage and crossing their fingers.”
This system helps airlines keep money within their business. Instead of returning cash, they give passengers a reason to book another flight with them. It also helps airlines retain customers.

AI fare-tracking services can help passengers find lower prices, but the savings depend on airline rules and service fees. Airline policies can also limit these benefits. For example, Alaska Airlines recently stopped handling fare-drop requests through its customer service team. It now asks passengers to cancel and rebook under its fare rules.
With the use of AI, it is now easier to track prices and flight tickets. However, it’s always wise for travelers not to assume that every fare drop will cause them to receive refunds. They must check airline rules before booking tickets using these platforms. These services will only succeed if passengers save money; the goal is never to check how much lower-fare tickets AI can find.
