Rockstar Games’ long-awaited blockbuster, Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), could be facing another release delay, pushing its launch from the expected May 2026 window to September 2026. The claim comes from gaming insider Millie A, who posted on X, citing “internal talks” at Rockstar hinting at a possible schedule shift.

GTA 6 Release delay has frustrated fans eagerly waiting for the next chapter in the franchise. While Rockstar has not officially commented, the speculation is gaining traction given the company’s history of delaying titles to ensure polish, much like the double delay seen with Red Dead Redemption 2.

This is the second reported delay for GTA 6. It was initially scheduled for fall 2025, but the release date was later pushed to May 2026. The new rumor suggests a September release for Rockstar, mirroring the incredibly successful September 2013 debut of GTA V.

With each GTA 6 Release delay update, speculation around the game's scale and features continues to grow. Reports indicate that ongoing development issues, particularly with the final chapters of the game's story, may be contributing to the delay.

Story Revisions and Development Struggles

In addition to the speculation, GameRoll shared information on Discord, claiming that the latter chapters of GTA 6 are still unfinished. According to GameRoll, the campaign will be put together into five possible chapters. Early trailers contain the first three chapters, as we understand they are all complete. However, GTA 6's 4th and 5th chapters are still in development.

Leaks suggest GTA 6 September 2026 might be the new launch window, pushing expectations further. Chapter 5, in particular, is undergoing a massive overhaul due to missing, incomplete, or scrapped elements.

GameRoll claims that the information came from a secondhand source, a friend of a Rockstar developer. However, the information still fits the other rumors about the game's scope and the changing narrative. Nothing can be said for sure until Rockstar makes an official announcement.

Pricing Details Leak

In addition to release date rumors, pricing information for GTA 6 has also surfaced. The Standard Edition is expected to retail for $69.99, with a Deluxe Edition and Premium Edition estimated to sell for $89.99 and $109.99, respectively.

GTA 6 Pricing Leak has sparked debates about premium editions and next-gen exclusivity. The premium editions may offer staggered early access to GTA Online, similar to the monetized offering of GTA 5’s online component.

Billion-Dollar Expectation

Despite an uncertain release date, analysts agree on the commercial value of GTA 6. Investment firm Konvoy estimates the title could generate as much as $7.6 billion within two months of release, covering its estimated $2 billion in development costs almost instantaneously. Industry insiders suggest GTA 6 will be the most significant launch in video game history.

Ongoing GTA 6 Development Issues have added pressure on Rockstar Games GTA 6 to live up to its massive hype. With anticipation high and leaks continuing, fans are now waiting for an official announcement from Rockstar for what is expected to be the most anticipated video game of all time.
