Gift Nifty reached a record USD 23.67 billion turnover on September 25, marking its busiest session ever. NSE International Exchange recorded the milestone at GIFT City through 5,12,023 traded contracts.

The turnover equaled around Rs. 2,26,987 crore during the session. Rising activity has strengthened Gift Nifty's role in India's international derivatives market.

The platform also posted record open interest of USD 21.87 billion on NSE IX, across 4,71,287 contracts. The figure equaled nearly Rs. 2,09,679 crore and surpassed the previous peak. Gift Nifty reached the new mark as trading activity continued expanding since July 2023. The latest session therefore pushed turnover, volume, and open interest to fresh highs together.

The latest turnover record surpassed the previous USD 23.48 billion peak set on February 20, 2026. Open interest also moved beyond the previous USD 21.56 billion record from June 25, 2026. These figures show how quickly activity has expanded across the international trading platform.

NSE IX said Gift Nifty has recorded more than 76.19 million contracts since full-scale operations began. Its cumulative turnover reached USD 3.52 trillion through September 25, 2026. The exchange said the latest milestones marked a ‘new era for Gift Nifty.’

The record session followed another strong performance on September 24, when volume reached 4,57,999 contracts. That session generated USD 21.18 billion turnover and pushed open interest to another high. The next session quickly lifted both measures beyond those levels.

Gift Nifty operates through NSE International Exchange, a multi-asset exchange based at GIFT City. NSE IX began operations in 2017 and is recognized by the International Financial Services Centres Authority.

The latest records highlight expanding trading activity around Indian equity derivatives. Growing turnover and open interest also point to deeper participation across the international market infrastructure. The figures add another major milestone to GIFT City's development as a financial center.
