Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+, its latest flagship tablets for users who want a larger screen and laptop-style productivity without sacrificing portability. The new models combine Samsung’s Galaxy AI features with a 3nm MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, upgraded displays and longer battery life.
Both tablets also come with an S Pen, while Samsung is positioning the range for work, learning and creative tasks. The Galaxy Tab S12 series is scheduled to go on sale in select markets from October 7 in Grey and Silver.
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Tab S12+ gets a 12.6-inch panel. Both support a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness.
The Ultra model measures just 5.1mm thick, making it Samsung’s thinnest Galaxy Tab to date. The company says its new processor delivers up to 61% faster NPU performance, 19% faster CPU performance and 17% improved GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
Samsung has also added a redesigned 3D vapor chamber to improve heat dissipation during demanding workloads. Both tablets carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The tablets run Android 17 with One UI 9 and come with Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features. Multi Window allows users to divide the screen into three sections, making it possible to take notes, watch a lecture, and use an AI assistant at the same time.
The included S Pen can be used for handwriting, annotations and sketches, while Samsung’s optional Pro Keyboard includes a dedicated Galaxy AI Key for accessing AI assistants.
Samsung is also offering a six-month Google AI Pro trial with the series. Gemini Notebook can bring together notes, images, recordings and files, while Samsung Browser can summarise information across multiple open webpages.

Battery life is another focus of the new tablets. Samsung rates the Tab S12 Ultra for up to 23 hours of video playback and the Tab S12+ for up to 21 hours under its specified test conditions. Both support 45W charging.
The tablets also come with professional apps and offers, including preloaded Adobe Photoshop. According to Samsung, Photoshop for tablets will initially be exclusive to the Galaxy Store for at least six months, with S12 users eligible for a four-month premium subscription.
With the Tab S12 series, Samsung is pushing its premium tablet line further toward a full productivity device, combining a large-screen workspace with AI tools, stylus input and desktop-oriented accessories.
