

The fuel prices have been kept at the same rate across various metropolitan cities in India on Thursday, 26 March 2026. The prices were not altered due to volatile prices of crude in international markets. These crude prices are being affected by geopolitical risks and rising concerns about crude oil supplies.
The fuel prices in Delhi stand at Rs. 94.77 per liter for petrol and Rs. 87.67 per liter for diesel, based on the latest revision in prices by oil marketing companies. The fuel prices for Mumbai stand at Rs. 103.49 per liter for petrol and Rs. 90.03 per liter for diesel.
The fuel prices in Chennai stand at Rs 100.80 per liter for petrol, and Rs 92.39 per liter for diesel. The fuel prices for Bengaluru stand at Rs 102.96 per liter for petrol and Rs 90.99 per liter for diesel. The fuel prices in Hyderabad stand at Rs 107.46 per liter for petrol and Rs 95.70 per liter for diesel.
Amid concerns triggered by panic buying in some regions, the Center on Wednesday assured that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG in the country. Officials said refineries are operating at optimal capacity, and sufficient inventories are being maintained.
“Domestic PNG connections are a top priority for the Government of India, and 100% of them are being supplied. Similarly, CNG used for transportation is also being made available to 100% of consumers,” Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing & Oil Refinery), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said.
She added that India has the capacity to refine around 26 crore tonnes of crude oil annually, noting that queues and panic buying had been observed at some retail outlets over the past two days. The government also warned against hoarding and black marketing of fuel.
