Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower, whose ominous appearance as Vecna captivated viewers, will be an official part of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season three. Bower has enjoyed fame for his roles in notable fantasy franchises such as Harry Potter, Twilight, and Camelot.

Bower will join Amazon Prime Video's sprawling take on J.R.R. Tolkien's Second Age as a series regular. Bower will be accompanied by Eddie Marsan, a seasoned actor known for his performances in Ray Donovan and Deadpool 2. Marsan will feature in a recurring role in the new season.

Filming To Commence Soon

The Rings of Power is already in pre-production, Season 3 will then come on board to film this spring at Shepperton Studios in the UK. The show, which tells the story of the rise of Sauron and the creation of the Rings of Power, is still growing its cast as it continues to explore Middle-earth's Second Age.

Bower's Fantasy Experience

Bower's casting on The Rings of Power brings a new big-budget fantasy franchise to his resume. He has earlier played the boy Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, vampire Caius in The Twilight Saga, and King Arthur in Camelot TV series. His rugged appearance and background with dark, occult roles make him an apt cast for Middle-earth.

Adding to the Cast

The ensemble cast of The Rings of Power already has famous actors like Charlie Vickers as Sauron/Annatar, Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Robert Aramayo as Elrond, and Markella Kavenagh as Nori Brandyfoot. Other cast members who are coming back include Benjamin Walker as High King Gil-galad, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Queen Regent Míriel, Owain Arthur as Prince Durin IV, and Charles Edwards as Celebrimbor.

Lord of The Rings Season 2 ended with Sauron, disguised as Annatar, gathering an army of orcs and winning a crushing victory over the elves in Eregion. With the season finale being so dramatic, there is a high chance that some of the cast members will not be back for the next season.

As The Rings of Power delves into the intricate events surrounding the fall of Númenor and the ascension of Sauron. New characters and alliances may have a pivotal role in Middle-earth's history. Jamie Campbell Bower's addition to the cast in a significant role is exciting for fans.

The ardent followers of the series cannot wait to learn how his character impacts the narrative that unfolds. The first two seasons of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have already been made available for streaming on Prime Video. Season 3 is due to be released in 2026.
