Gemini, the Winklevoss twins' crypto exchange, is promoting its XRP cashback rewards scheme. The program, access to which is through the Gemini Credit Card, comes with tiered cashback rewards for payments made using the card.
On March 27, Tyler Winklevoss reminded the social media community about XRP rewards that users can earn using the Gemini Credit Card, which was introduced in collaboration with Mastercard in 2021. The card enables users to earn cashback in XRP, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and more than 50 other cryptocurrencies.
The cashback program provides:
4% XRP cashback on gas and EV charging (up to $200 per month).
1% XRP cashback on fuel and EV charging after exceeding the limit.
3% XRP cashback on dining, 2% on groceries, and 1% on other purchases.
Winklevoss emphasized that the program is currently available only to US residents and shared his personal positive experience using the card to accumulate crypto rewards.
To be eligible for the Gemini Credit Card, customers need to pass the exchange's credit score standards. New cardholders need to obtain their cards by June 30, 2025, to be part of the promotion.
In addition, new customers can receive up to $200 in XRP cashback when they spend a minimum of $3,000 within the first 90 days. The XRP rewards are credited directly into Gemini accounts, and customers can trade, hold, or sell them. The card charges no annual, exchange, or foreign transaction fees, making it a good choice for crypto users.
With XRP costing $2.13, the cashback program promotes its utility and adoption. Gemini isn't the only one to adopt XRP. Exchanges such as WhiteBIT and Bit2Me also have similar programs. By placing XRP in regular transactions, Gemini wants to increase crypto adoption and drive broader use of digital payments.
