

Trump Media has ended its planned CRO treasury venture with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition, citing market conditions and shifting business priorities. The decision also ends a separate ETF servicing plan with Crypto.com. CRO fell as much as 5% after the announcement.
The companies had planned to create Trump Media Group CRO Strategy as a publicly traded vehicle focused on accumulating Cronos' native token. The venture also aimed to earn extra returns through staking.
Under the original structure, Crypto.com would supply $1 billion in CRO and provide access to a $5 billion credit facility. The broader plan targeted about $6.4 billion in CRO purchases.
Trump Media had already purchased $105 million worth of CRO in September 2025. That purchase formed part of a wider relationship with Crypto.com, including proposed token rewards across Trump Media products.
The companies also ended a separate arrangement involving planned exchange-traded funds from Yorkville America. Crypto.com had expected to service certain funds under that partnership.
At the same time, Trump Media has scaled back plans to build Crypto.com-powered prediction markets directly into Truth Social, according to the supplied report. The move narrows another part of the earlier crypto strategy.
The pullback follows a period when Trump-linked entities expanded their crypto activity after the 2024 presidential election. Those moves included ETF plans, CRO accumulation and Bitcoin holdings.

Interim CEO Kevin McGurn said the digital asset treasury market has become saturated. He said Trump Media now plans to focus on media, data licensing and its technology business. The company is also pursuing its proposed merger with fusion-energy company TAE. McGurn said Trump Media hopes to complete that transaction before the end of 2026.
The change comes while the CLARITY Act remains stalled in Washington amid debate over ethics and possible conflicts involving President Donald Trump and his family's crypto ventures.
Trump Media still holds Bitcoin on its balance sheet. Company filings showed 9,542 BTC at the end of the second quarter, while 2,628 BTC moved this week to Crypto.com-associated addresses.
