Google Enters Crypto Custody

Google is previewing Google Multi-Party Compute (MPC), a security service built to help banks and other financial institutions safeguard and move cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets.

The product is in private preview, and Google plans commercial availability in early 2027. The company has not disclosed pricing. Several design partners and major financial institutions are testing the service, though Google declined to name them.

The move puts Google in competition with established custody technology providers such as Fireblocks, Fordefi and BitGo. The service reduces reliance on a single private key through a technique called multi-party computation (MPC), which distributes control across several parties or computers.

XRPL Hits Highest Level for the Year

XRP Ledger activity has jumped to its highest level this year, while the price of XRP slips lower. Active accounts, which count the unique senders on the network, reached 32,604 on October 27. This is the highest reading since the start of 2026 and well above the 30-day average of 19.4K.

For most of the past year, daily active accounts stayed between 13K and 20K. A few short spikes pushed above 30K, but they faded quickly. The latest jump is larger and cleaner than those moves. It also follows a deep drop in late August and early September, when activity fell to nearly 4K accounts.

Visa Sees 10 Times Stablecoins Settlement Growth

Visa has surpassed USD 25 billion in annualized stablecoin settlement volume, a tenfold increase from a year ago, as the global payments company expands its blockchain operations across 10 networks and five international regions.

According to Visa CEO Ryan McInerney, who disclosed the figures during the company’s October 27 fiscal fourth-quarter earnings call, the payment network now supports five stablecoins for settlement. The company has expanded its stablecoin-linked card business to more than 225 programs, serving approximately 5 million cards across more than 50 countries.

The USD 25 billion figure represents Visa’s annualized settlement run rate, calculated from its current pace of activity, not the total amount processed throughout fiscal 2026. During the earnings call, McInerney said Visa’s settlement operations now cover 10 blockchains, more than twice the number supported a year ago.

Hyperliquid Burns 49.87 million HYPE Tokens

Hyperliquid has permanently burned 49.87 million HYPE tokens, valued at roughly USD 3.89 billion at the time of the on-chain snapshot, according to Onchain Lens. The tracker said the amount represented 4.99% of a 1 billion-token maximum supply and reported lifetime protocol revenue of USD 1.38 billion.

The burn highlights how the decentralized exchange is using fee-driven mechanisms to reduce HYPE supply. Over the previous 24 hours, about 19,700 HYPE worth approximately USD 1.59 million were burned, while estimated fees reached USD 1.69 million.
