Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to launch on October 23, 2026, giving players less than a month to prepare for the next entry in Activision's long-running shooter franchise. Developed by Infinity Ward, with Beenox leading the PC version, the game will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. PC players will be able to access the game through Steam, Battle.net, and Xbox on PC.
Players who digitally pre-order the game can also get several benefits before launch. Pre-orders provide early access to the Open Beta, while the Campaign will be available to eligible digital players ahead of the full release. Activision has also announced additional in-game rewards tied to pre-orders and the different editions of the game.
Players who pre-purchase the Standard or Vault Edition can receive early access to the Open Beta. Digital pre-orders also include the Hunter Killer Operator Skin, which can be used in Modern Warfare 4 and is available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone under the stated conditions.
The Vault Edition comes with additional content, including the Hostile Alliance Operator Pack, Special Forces Operator Pack, Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell and a DMZ Deployment Bonus. Eligible returning Call of Duty players can also receive a 10% loyalty discount on the Vault Edition until October 23.
Activision and Beenox have also detailed the hardware requirements for PC players. The minimum specification calls for 8GB of RAM, a Ryzen 5 1400 or Core i5-6600 processor, and a Radeon RX 470, GeForce GTX 970/1060, or Intel Arc A580 graphics card. The game requires an SSD with around 115GB of storage.
For players targeting 90 frames per second at high settings, the recommended configuration rises to 16GB of RAM and graphics hardware such as the RTX 3060 Ti or Radeon RX 6600 XT.
