Assassin’s Creed Hexe has sparked a new rumor about Ezio Auditore. A recent X post revealed that the final part of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s post-launch content, The Final Rift, paid tribute to multiple locations featured previously in different Assassin’s Creed games.
While the last scene had locations like a Pyramid for Assassin's Creed Origins, a Greek Stoa for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, a Viking longhouse for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and a Japanese Castle for Assassin's Creed Shadows, many noticed that there was ‘Ezio’s Family’ music that had no connection to any of the locations.
The track is closely tied to Ezio, one of the most famous characters in the series, but he had no link to any of the locations featured. Thus, the speculation brought to life the idea that Ubisoft could be planning something for Hexe.
Nothing has been confirmed yet. Still, the theory has gained attention because Hexe is taking the series in a very different direction. The game is set in 16th-century Central Europe during the witch trials. Players will follow Annika, whose intellect puts her in danger from the ongoing Witch Hunts. Hexe is also expected to focus more on stealth and a darker style of gameplay.
Ezio is arguably the face of Assassin’s Creed. His story appeared across three games and helped make the series a household name. Even years later, he remains one of the characters fans want to see again.
A short Ezio appearance could also give Hexe a strong push before launch. At the same time, the game has enough new ideas to build its own identity. Its setting and darker mood already make it stand out. If Ubisoft brings Ezio back, it will need to keep his role under control. A short appearance could feel special. Making him a major character could take attention away from Annika and her story.
