Apple has been quietly using an AI chatbot internally for some time. A recent report has revealed that Apple employees are using two AI tools, along with the previously reported Veritas, to test a new version of Siri. 

The reports came amidst the much-talked-about Apple-Google AI partnership that could reshape the voice assistant market and unlock a segment valued at up to $5 billion.

Inside Apple AI Chatbots

According to reports, Apple employees are using two AI tools named Enchante and Enterprise Assistant. Enchante was rolled out to Apple staff in November 2025. It is an internal ChatGPT-like assistant that Apple employees can use for “ideas, development, proofreading, and even general knowledge answers,” according to the Macrumour report.

The Enterprise Assistant acts as a knowledge hub for corporate employees. This chatbot includes a database of Apple’s internal policies, which allows staff to ask questions about everything from company conduct guidelines to health insurance benefits.

The app’s guidelines state the tools are “designed to support team members across all departments, including engineering, design, product, marketing, HR, customer support, and leadership.”

Enchante & Enterprise Assistant: Secure and Productive

Enchanté runs on models approved by Apple, and they all support locally or private servers. It prevents minimal data sharing with third parties. This chatbot also provides access to Claude and Gemini, Apple’s own Foundation Models that power Apple Intelligence. Employees can upload documents, images, and other files for analysis, and the app can access files stored directly on a Mac.

According to an internal memo from Apple, Enchanté can be used by employees not only as a test platform but also to help them with everyday work tasks. The app includes a database of Apple’s internal documentation and guidelines, and is being used across all departments, including engineering, design, marketing, and leadership.

Apple Bets Big on Siri

The company’s biggest AI-related move will be the long-anticipated overhaul of ‌Apple Siri‌, which is expected to be more conversational and capable of completing multi-step tasks. Apple has also signed a multi-year deal with Google to use Gemini models for its revamped Siri, which is coming later this year.

Apple faced a series of setbacks on the AI front after being late to the race, including delays to Siri's upgrade, top-level executive changes, and a lukewarm reception to its initial rollout of generative AI tools.

Final Thoughts

Many companies restrict employees from using AI tools for work tasks to prevent sensitive internal data from being sent to third-party servers. The company has also been exploring AI tools to assist AppleCare agents.

Apple can improve its language models for real-world conditions by collecting employee feedback. This chatbot-style assistant is said to be integrated into iOS 27 and could take centre stage at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.
