Apple acknowledged an issue affecting Apple Watch users after daylight saving time changes. In a support document, the tech giant said, “The watch’s Always On display may continue to show a time that is one hour behind or ahead of the correct local time.”
The problem affects only the dimmed display that is visible when a user’s wrist is down. When the user raises the wrist or taps the screen, the watch displays the correct time. Apple also confirmed that alarms, timers, and other time-based functions are working normally.
After clocks change in a user’s region, the Always On display can remain stuck on the previous hour. This can confuse users who glance at their watch without raising their wrist.
Apple said, “The issue does not indicate a fault with the device’s internal clock. The watch corrects the display as soon as it becomes active. The glitch was temporary, and we have provided two ways to resolve it immediately.”
Users can restart the Apple Watch or switch the watch face to refresh the Always On display. Either step must restore the correct time. To switch watch faces, users should touch and hold the current face, swipe to another face and select it. Users can then return to their preferred watch face.
For users who prefer not to make changes, the tech company informed that the display will correct itself at midnight after the daylight saving change.
