Apple shared the early release of iOS 18.3 with the public, highlighting what future iPhone owners will gain once it officially launches. The upgrade will roll out on January 28, 2025, adding new features and important bug fixes to improve device use.
iOS 18.3 will include Visual Intelligence, and iPhone 16 models will be exclusive to iPhone 16. With this feature, users can add some actions, like adding events directly to the calendar but on posters or flyers. Moreover, the Visual Intelligence tool provides users with an easy means of identifying plants and animals through the camera, thus easily accessing real-time information. The feature won’t be available in other iPhone models, but for iPhone 16 users, it will be a huge addition.
With an iPhone 16, users can better control and organize their notifications. The update brings a new look to Notification Summaries with italicized words and glyphs. Users will now have the option to change which notifications they get right from their Lock Screen, making things simpler and more personalized.
Users with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 will get better notification summaries. This update has fixed the old notification layout problems, creating an organized way to handle alerts. The ability to generate app summaries from News and Entertainment sources will stop working, but it will come back when we release an upcoming update.
The Calculator app in iOS 18.3 now repeats the most recent answer when users tap the equals sign again. This tiny but valuable tool improves the app's performance and simplifies tasks.
Apple has corrected small problems, such as the keyboard vanishing when using Siri and music playing on Apple Music even after you close the app. These fixes work together to help users work with the app faster and with fewer issues.
While the arrival of the iOS 18.3 update also brings many new features, not all will be available for all devices. For instance, while the Visual Intelligence tool will be an iPhone 16 series exclusive, the other improvements will be seen on all iPhone models.
