Apple has released a new Diwali film titled 'Step Into the Light' with Indian fashion brand Raw Mango. Directed by founder Sanjay Garg, the Shot on iPhone 18 Pro film premiered on November 4. Apple filmed the entire project at Tijara Fort in Rajasthan to highlight the smartphone's camera performance in low-light conditions.
The film brings together performers from different parts of India through dance, traditional clothing and changing light. It uses Diwali's theme of moving from darkness towards light to create a visual story. Apple also highlights how the iPhone 18 Pro captures movement and details inside dimly lit locations.
The project gives special attention to the iPhone 18 Pro camera system. Apple has introduced variable aperture technology for the first time on an iPhone. The 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera can automatically adjust its aperture according to lighting conditions and depth requirements.
The camera can widen its aperture to f/1.48, helping capture clearer images in darker surroundings. It also uses six laser-cut blades to control incoming light. Apple's Smart Focus Tracking feature helps keep moving performers in focus during choreographed scenes.
Beyond smartphone photography, the campaign also highlights India's traditional textile designs. Raw Mango created the film's wardrobe using fabrics such as Mashru, Varanasi brocades and Chanderi. The clothing combines traditional weaving techniques with colors chosen to complement the iPhone 18 Pro.
Actor Juhi Chawla also appears in the film, which features a folk version of Anu Malik's song 'Roop Suhana Lagta Hai'. The original song appeared in Chawla's 1994 film The Gentleman.
The collaboration also reflects Raw Mango's focus on Indian textiles and cultural traditions. Sanjay Garg founded the fashion label in 2008, and it recently made its international runway debut at London Fashion Week.
Apple premiered 'Step Into the Light' on its global Instagram account and Apple India's YouTube channel. The company also shared a behind-the-scenes video showing Garg directing the film using the iPhone 18 Pro.
