Apple released the second developer beta of macOS 27.2, giving Mac users and developers another preview of the upcoming Golden Gate update. The new build, identified as 26B5091g, will arrive a week after the first beta and follows the launch of macOS 27 earlier this month.
The latest release is primarily focused on continued testing, refinements, and fixes. Apple’s official release notes also list several known issues that developers should be aware of while testing the software.
One of the major additions associated with macOS 27.2 is the expansion of Siri AI to additional languages. The first beta of macOS 27.2 introduced support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish, expanding beyond the English-only availability that accompanied the initial macOS 27 release.
The update is part of Apple's broader effort to bring more advanced Siri capabilities to its devices. macOS 27 also provides developers with new tools around Apple’s Foundation Models framework and App Intents, allowing applications to make greater use of on-device intelligence and natural-language interactions.
Apple has not announced a major new user-facing feature specifically for beta 2 so far. Instead, the second release continues the testing process ahead of the expected public launch later in October.
The official release notes highlight several issues still under investigation. These include possible Xcode crashes when developers use code completion ranking, notification problems after a clean installation, and an issue affecting the Shortcuts ‘Describe a Shortcut’ function.
Apple is expected to continue refining the operating system through additional beta releases before the stable version reaches users.

The developer beta can be installed through System Settings > General > Software Update. Users who are enrolled in Apple's beta program can select the relevant macOS developer beta under the Beta Updates option and begin the installation.
Apple recommends backing up a Mac before installing beta software since preview builds can contain bugs, compatibility issues, and other problems. The company also advises developers to review the release notes before installing a beta.
For now, macOS 27.2 remains a work in progress, with Apple expected to make further changes before the final release.
