Apple has officially launched its iPhone 17 series, which includes iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. These models are now available in the global market. For Indian customers, the price of iPhone 17 starts at Rs. 82,900 for the 256GB model, which is slightly higher than last year’s iPhone 16. Pre-orders for the new series are currently being accepted, and the phones are expected to hit stores starting September 19.
Prices for the new iPhones vary considerably across countries. In the US, iPhone 17 starts at just $799, making it the most affordable option worldwide. The UAE follows at AED 3,099, with Japan offering theirs at ¥129,800. In Europe, Germany has higher prices, starting around €949, followed by the UK, where prices begin at about £949.
Customers in India can save over Rs. 10,000 by buying from the US, but there is a catch: Apple only sells eSIM models, which may be problematic for those who depend on physical SIM cards.
Apple has doubled the base storage across the iPhone 17 lineup compared to last year. iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max now start at 256GB and go up to 1TB and 2TB, respectively. This is the first time Apple has offered 2TB storage.
Despite a price increase of about Rs. 3,000, the upgrade delivers more value for money, thanks to larger storage and enhanced performance.
iPhone 17 remains the cheapest in the US market, with Canada and the UAE ranking second. Any potential buyer must consider import duties, warranty limitations, and eSIM-only issues before deciding. Shopping abroad is a good option for customers seeking maximum savings without compromising compatibility and after-sales support.
