Amazon announced the start date for its biggest festive shopping event in India. The Great Indian Festival 2026 will begin on October 8, bringing discounts and promotional offers across smartphones, electronics, fashion, beauty, home essentials, groceries and several other categories.
The e-commerce company also revealed some of the benefits shoppers can expect during the sale, although individual product prices and discount details have not yet been disclosed.
One of the headline offers this year is a 10% instant discount for eligible SBI credit and debit card transactions. The benefit will also apply to eligible credit card EMI purchases, according to Amazon.
The offer is expected to cover a range of products during the festive event, although the exact terms and applicable products may vary. Customers planning larger purchases may therefore be able to combine the bank discount with other promotional benefits where permitted.
Amazon Prime subscribers will have access to up to 10% extra savings during the Great Indian Festival. The company has not yet disclosed the complete product-wise terms for this benefit.
The sale will feature several dedicated deal sections, including Blockbuster Deals, Top 100 Deals, Mega Deals and 8 PM Deals. Amazon is also promoting offers such as Buy More Save More, Exchange Mela, Amazon Combos and Sample Mania.
No Cost EMI and exchange offers will also be available across multiple categories, giving shoppers additional ways to reduce the effective cost of eligible purchases.

Amazon is preparing its logistics infrastructure ahead of the expected increase in festive-season orders. The company plans to add 20 fulfilment centres, six sort centres and 150 last-mile delivery stations across India.
Amazon is also expanding its quick-commerce service, Amazon Now, ahead of Diwali. The service is currently available in more than 60 cities and is expected to reach 100 cities before the festival.
For shoppers, the October 8 launch will bring another major opportunity to compare prices across categories. Amazon is expected to reveal specific product deals and additional offer details closer to the sale.
