Primary Responsibilities

As a Business Intelligence Engineer at Amazon, you will:

  • Design, refine, and maintain ETL pipelines and write testable, scalable code for automation.

  • Use tools like Excel, Tableau, QuickSight, and Power BI for data visualization and business insights.

  • Apply statistical techniques such as t-tests and Chi-squared tests to extract actionable insights.

  • Build mid-size BI solutions to answer key business questions using best practices in BI and data analysis.

  • Understand data lineage, from source to consumption, and ensure metrics are well-defined and accurate.

  • Partner with fellow engineers to troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes, and implement fixes.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience analyzing data using Redshift, Oracle, or NoSQL databases

  • Experience in building data models, writing SQL queries, and developing ETL solutions

  • Proficient with BI tools like Tableau, QuickSight, or Power BI

  • Skilled in scripting languages (Python, Java, or R)

  • Understanding of regression and statistical modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or advanced technical degree

  • Experience with statistical and correlation analysis

  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Ability to optimize BI processes and automate reporting systems
