The Quordle holds in its grid a formation of four random words having five letters each, waiting to be discovered by the gifted and the diligent alike on a daily basis. Players get nine guesses, and using a color code of green for direct hits, yellow for near misses, and gray for complete misses, they go through the quest of revealing all four words daily.
Inspired by the phenomenal success of Wordle, David Mah envisioned a more demanding word puzzle experience. With Freddie Meyer's technical expertise, Quordle was born—quadrupling the challenge with four simultaneous puzzles. Now under Merriam-Webster's wing, the game continues to test vocabulary enthusiasts worldwide.
Letter Hints
Players only need to guess 4 letters to guess the correct word. Guessing the first and last letter is a good strategic start to solving Quordle.
Hint 1 (First Letter of the Word):
The first word starts with D (top-left).
The second word starts with V (top-right).
The third word starts with T (bottom-left).
The fourth word starts with A (bottom-right)
Hint 2 (Last Letter of the Word)
The first word ends with Y (top-left).
The second word ends with R (top-right)
The third word ends with R (bottom-left).
The fourth word ends with S (bottom-right).
Predicting words with vowels are the best hints in Quordle. They frequently appear in English words in a common pattern, such as CVC, consonant-vowel-consonant. For example, try "WAFER" and "STILL" from the previous day's Quordle game. Select “Past Games” from the "Daily Classic" drop-down menu, then select the March 20 game.

Repeating letters is best suited for an elimination strategy. When a letter appears twice, half of the word can be guessed with little difficulty. From the 18 March 2025 game, the letter “E” helps with guessing three words and the letter “A” also helps with guessing two words.
