Apple is preparing to launch iPhone 17 lineup in the coming months. This upcoming lineup is supposed to have iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, with iPhone 17 Air that represents a monumental change in aesthetics ever since the iPhone X came out in 2017.
The most hype is centered around iPhone 17 Pro. It appears to be the most ambitious turn Apple has taken in recent times. As per the leaks, the model would be released worldwide in September of 2025, boasting a daring design and power-packed specifications. However, what remains the most concerning question is its price; in India, rumors are already circulating that it will start from ₹1.19 lakh (approx.).
In recent times, Apple has been maintaining a steady trend of unveiling new models during September. Considering that, iPhone enthusiasts expect that the iPhone 17 series will come in during an event in mid-September.
To be precise, they expect it to come around September 11 to 13, with pre-orders starting immediately after the announcement event. However, like always, India will see a little late launch, considering the import timelines and taxes.
The next most asked question is the price of the iPhone 17 Pro. At this point, official information about its price range is scarce. However, industry insiders hint at Apple maintaining a similar price tag to the iPhone 16 Pro and launching the iPhone 17 Pro around ₹1,19,900 at launch in India. In the US, the Pro models are expected to reach more than US$1100.
About the design of the iPhone 17 Pro, rumors are going wild suggesting these models will replace the glass back with a hybrid aluminum-glass composition. Reports hint at a half-metal, half-glass rear panel, which is supposed to improve the durability while enabling wireless and MagSafe charging.
Arguably one of the most compelling visual changes will be in the camera module: instead of the vertical/triangular layout, the leaks indicate an unabashedly horizontal bar with three gigantic 48-megapixel sensors, LED flash, and possibly a relocated LiDAR sensor, stretching from one end of the device to the other. Perhaps the front is getting a facelift as well: a smaller Dynamic Island coupled with slimmer bezels would present a pixel buffer 6.3-inch OLED, brighter than last year's model.
While purchasing a smartphone, what users generally consider the most is the performance and display. As of now, rumors state that the iPhone 17 Pro will debut Apple’s next-gen A19 Pro chip. Additionally, it’s like building upon TSMC’s third-gen 3 nm process, which will provide the devices with improved power efficiency and CPU/GPU upgrades.
These features are speculated to be paired with 12 GB of RAM and significant software enhancements. Moreover, Apple is speculated to add a vapor-chamber thermal system along with graphite and aluminum heat dissipation layers. These are aimed at providing smoother performance during heavy usage.
For the display, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to have a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel with ProMotion (120 Hz). This panel is supposed to offer a brighter output, and the anti-reflective coating is to enhance outdoor views. Furthermore, this pro model will come with an integration of Wi‑Fi 7 and an in‑house 5G modem.

Photography is the most crucial part of any smartphone model. Apple is not an exception. Rumors say Apple is doubling down on computational photography for the iPhone 17 Pro. All three rear sensors are speculated to be 48 MP, including wide, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses, to be joined by a very-high-shot 24 MP selfie camera.
The telephoto lens is expected to take advantage of the Tetraprism technology for much sharper zoom, potentially offering 3.5× optical zoom along with 8K video recording for the very first time on an iPhone. The ultrawide and selfie lenses will also benefit from better low-light performance courtesy of these silicon improvements and better algorithms.
The battery life of the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to get a huge bump. It is speculated to come with a 4,600–4,700 mAh capacity battery. The most important part is that Apple will probably bring fast wired charging and fast MagSafe charging for the iPhone 17 Pro.
