Apple is getting set to launch its iPhone 17 series with two standout models; iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Air. The iPhone 17 Air will be the thinnest iPhone while the iPhone 17 Pro Max will focus on high-end performance and camera capabilities.
The iPhone 17 Air is expected to measure between 5.5mm and 6mm in thickness. It will also feature an aluminum and glass body with a single rear camera in a pill-shaped camera bar. The iPhone 17 Pro Max will be bulkier at 8.73mm offering a larger battery and a more premium build. The Pro Max will likely include a dual-speaker setup, unlike the Air’s single speaker.
The iPhone 17 Air may feature a single 48MP wide rear camera and a 24MP front camera. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to include a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x zoom and a 48MP ultrawide camera. These features will focus on catering to different photography needs, with the Pro Max offering advanced options to its users.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will much likely run on the A18 Pro chip with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The iPhone 17 Air may come with an A19 chip, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both devices are expected to support AI-driven features and gaming, but the Pro Max will offer a performance edge.
The iPhone 17 Air may use Apple’s C1 modem, which does not support mmWave 5G. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to retain the Qualcomm’s 5G modem for faster speeds. Pricing estimates suggest the iPhone 17 Air will start at $900 while the iPhone 17 Pro Max may launch at $1,199.
Apple’s focus on a thinner design could indicate upcoming foldable iPhone plans. It is also predicted by the industry experts that Apple is likely to introduce a foldable model as early as 2026. The iPhone 17 series aims to redefine smartphone design while offering powerful features for different users.
