October brings a fairly varied lineup to Disney+, with Marvel, supernatural drama, animation and National Geographic programming all arriving during the month. For viewers planning their next few weeks of streaming, there are several new shows and returning series worth keeping an eye on.
From ‘Coven Academy,’ which brings witches and warlocks to a magical school in New Orleans, to Marvel's ‘VisionQuest,’ October offers something across different genres.
Here are some of the new movies and shows scheduled to arrive on Disney+ this month:
Disney+ starts October with the second season of ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+’ on October 1. The preschool series brings Mickey and his familiar group of friends back for another set of adventures, making it one of the month's early additions for younger viewers.
If supernatural dramas fit your October watchlist, ‘Coven Academy’ arrives at the right time. The series follows teenage witches and warlocks at a secretive magic school in New Orleans, where students must deal with supernatural threats alongside the usual complications of school and relationships.
The series premiered on Disney+ on October 2, following its Freeform debut a day earlier.
Finn and Jake are back with another collection of adventures in Adventure Time: Side Quests Season 2. The new season continues to explore the strange and often unpredictable world of Ooo, with the duo getting pulled into more unusual side quests. Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on October 2.
Disney+ is also bringing back the animated series ‘Pupstruction’ for a third season on October 2. The show follows a group of construction-working puppies as they tackle different projects and problems, with teamwork once again at the centre of their adventures.
National Geographic's ‘Africa Earth's Wild Home’ arrives on Disney+ on October 3. The seven-part series takes viewers across the continent to explore its wildlife, landscapes and ecosystems.
The series was filmed over almost four years across nearly 30 countries. National Geographic says it also captures previously undocumented animal behavior, including black rain frogs and hyenas hunting elephants in the Congo.
‘Vampirina: Teenage Vampire’ returns for Season 2 on October 7. The series follows Vee as she attends boarding school while trying to balance her musical ambitions with the fact that she is secretly a vampire. All episodes of the second season will stream on Disney+ at launch.
