Canva introduced Canva AI 2.0, calling it the company's most significant product evolution since its launch in 2013. The new AI system turns Canva into a conversational, agentic platform that lets teams move from an initial idea to complete, published work in one place.
Canva said more than a quarter of a billion people use the platform every month. With Canva AI 2.0, users can start with an idea, goal, brief, rough sketch, or even an unfinished thought instead of beginning with a template or blank page.

Canva AI 2.0 generates fully layered and editable output from a single prompt. Designs are assembled from individual components, with layout, hierarchy, and brand elements built into the first output.
Every element remains layered and editable. Users can swap an image, adjust a headline, or change a font without affecting other parts of the design.
The system also stays involved throughout the creative process. It understands intent, handles complex requests, and coordinates actions across an entire design. Users can take over and edit manually, while Canva AI steps back until needed again.

Canva AI 2.0 introduces Memory Library, which gives the system persistent memory. The feature lets Canva AI understand how users work, retain project context, and apply their style automatically.
Canva said the more users create, the better the system understands how they work, making its suggestions more useful over time.
Four capabilities form the core of Canva AI 2.0: conversational design, agentic orchestration, layered object intelligence, and Memory Library.
Conversational design lets users create through natural interaction. Agentic orchestration gives Canva AI access to Canva's full design engine, so it can select and coordinate the right capabilities to achieve a requested outcome.
Layered object intelligence ensures AI-generated designs consist of individual editable objects rather than static or locked images.
Canva AI 2.0 also introduces six intelligent workflows: connectors, scheduling, web research, brand intelligence, Sheets AI and Canva Code 2.0.
Connectors link Canva AI with tools including Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Notion, Zoom, HubSpot, Microsoft, Atlassian and Linear. Canva AI can use conversations, content, and context from these services to create finished, on-brand visual outputs.
Scheduling lets users set tasks to run automatically in the background, including while they are offline. Web research gathers and structures information from across the web and delivers it directly into designs as structured, editable content.
Brand Intelligence applies fonts, colors, and style from a connected brand template or user description. Existing designs can also be updated with the latest brand settings.
Canva Code 2.0 lets users create fully interactive experiences through a conversational prompt. The system can build responsive experiences that work across devices. With HTML importing, users can bring HTML files or AI-generated experiences into Canva and edit them without rebuilding them.
Sheets AI generates structured spreadsheets from descriptions. Examples include budget trackers, project timelines, and content calendars. The sheets come populated with real data and remain ready for use.
