Wall Street veteran Tom Lee has made headlines again after BitMine, his crypto treasury firm, poured $1.7 billion into Ethereum during the recent market dip. While many investors panicked, Lee doubled down, and perhaps he knows something others don’t. Some analysts suggest he’s betting on the strength of Ethereum’s ecosystem and the rise of powerful ERC-20 tokens like Remittix, which has already raised $27.5 million through the sale of 679 million tokens at $0.1166 each.
Even with the recent reversal, Ethereum is a major foundation of the digital economy. Lee has forecasted that ETH may skyrocket to $5,000, in case the ETH/BTC couple breaks the 0.087 resistance level. He believes the next crypto supercycle could mirror Wall Street’s boom after the gold standard was abandoned, with Ethereum at its center.
BitMine’s purchase of over 3.3 million ETH, representing roughly 2.7% of total supply, shows strong conviction in Ethereum’s long-term potential. Lee describes the current market as a “price dislocation,” saying ETH is undervalued given its growing role in DeFi, tokenization, and institutional settlements. At current prices near $3,894, Ethereum could be setting up for a major rebound once market liquidity returns.
