The crypto market is approaching today’s Federal Reserve decision with Bitcoin near USD 80,000, Ethereum around USD 2,300, XRP close to USD 1.30 and Solana near USD 100. The larger question is whether the central bank’s message changes expectations for interest rates, liquidity and demand across digital assets.

The Federal Open Market Committee concludes its meeting today. It is scheduled to release its statement at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by a press conference 30 minutes later. That puts the announcement at about 11:30 p.m. IST tonight.

Until the statement arrives, crypto market news will shape crypto market news. Afterwards, attention will shift to the wording on inflation, economic activity and future US interest rates. Bitcoin may react first, but Ethereum, XRP and Solana can show whether the move spreads across the market.

Crypto market today waits for the Fed interest rate decision

The Federal Reserve’s official calendar confirms that the two-day meeting concludes today. It is not accompanied by a new Summary of Economic Projections, so the policy statement and the chair’s press conference will carry more weight than a fresh set of rate forecasts.

At its September meeting, the Fed raised the federal funds rate target range by a quarter percentage point to 3.75%–4%. The September FOMC statement therefore provides the reference point for assessing whether the language becomes firmer, softer or remains broadly unchanged.

For the crypto market today, references to inflation, financial conditions or further restraint could be as important as the rate itself. Language suggesting that policymakers can wait for more evidence may produce a different response even if the target range is unchanged.

Bitcoin price could provide the first liquidity signal

Bitcoin remains the largest and most closely followed cryptocurrency, giving the Bitcoin price an important signalling role. Its movement around USD 80,000 is relevant, but the more useful question is whether the rest of the market supports Bitcoin's initial response.

A rise in BTC immediately after the statement would not establish a lasting direction. The move would need to hold through the press conference and continue into Asian hours. An initial decline could similarly reflect a quick read before the wider message is assessed.

The Bitcoin Fed reaction may arrive in stages as the market interprets the statement and press conference separately. That makes the duration and timing of any BTC movement as important as its size.

Ethereum news turns to ETH demand and the USD 2,300 area

Ethereum enters the meeting with a different set of questions. ETH has been moving near USD 2,300, while recent Ethereum news has included institutional holdings, staking activity and changing demand for Ethereum-linked investment products. These factors give ETH its own market narrative even when the Fed supplies the common macroeconomic catalyst.

Ethereum’s response also depends on whether capital is moving into its ecosystem. Network use, staking demand and institutional accumulation can reinforce or weaken the macroeconomic signal.

The relationship with Bitcoin will be worth watching. If BTC strengthens while ETH remains subdued, the reaction may be concentrated in the largest cryptocurrency. If both advance and Ethereum begins to outperform, the move may indicate wider participation. A similar distinction applies if the market moves lower: relative performance can show where caution is most pronounced.

XRP and Solana news offer a broader altcoin test

XRP and Solana add another layer to the assessment because they can respond more sharply when appetite for volatile assets changes. The current XRP price near USD 1.30 puts the focus on whether it can stabilise after recent weakness, but the Fed is not the only driver. Developments involving Ripple, payment infrastructure and the XRP Ledger continue to influence its separate narrative.

For Solana, attention is split between the Solana price and a busy network news cycle. Akash Network’s core team has selected Solana as the proposed destination for a migration from its Cosmos-based chain, with the governance process still open. This does not mean that the full migration has already occurred, but it adds a current ecosystem catalyst that could influence SOL independently of the Fed.

Crypto betting markets require precise timing around the announcement

On Moon, crypto betting involves wagers on whether market prices move up or down. The Fed decision can provide context for wagers involving Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP or Solana, but the relevant measurement period and the exact time at which the price change is assessed remain fundamental. A movement before the statement, an immediate reaction at 11:30 p.m. IST tonight and the direction after the press conference may produce different outcomes.

This distinction matters most for crypto wagers placed around scheduled announcements. Bitcoin may react first, while Ethereum, XRP and Solana could follow with different levels of volatility or move according to their own market factors. The outcome therefore depends on the price recorded within the specified window, rather than on a general assumption about how cryptocurrencies should respond to the Fed.

Fed communication may matter more than an unchanged rate

The Federal Reserve’s October calendar schedules today’s statement for 2 p.m. Eastern Time and the press conference for 2:30 p.m. The half-hour gap is significant because prices can respond to the written statement before policymakers answer questions.

Three elements deserve particular attention. First, the description of inflation and whether officials see price pressures as persistent. The second is any change in the assessment of economic growth and employment. The third is the guidance, explicit or implied, about whether another adjustment could be considered at the December meeting.

These signals affect expectations for the dollar, bond yields and global liquidity. Confirmation across several assets and over more than a few minutes would provide a stronger indication of how the market has interpreted them.

Crypto market reaction could unfold across several sessions

The first response will occur late tonight in India, so domestic readers may wake tomorrow, 29 October, to a market that has processed the statement and much of the press conference. Asian participation can then confirm or reverse part of the overnight direction.

Bitcoin will remain the clearest headline indicator, but Ethereum, XRP and Solana can show whether the reaction has breadth. A move shared by all four assets would suggest that the macroeconomic message is dominating. Divergence would point towards asset-specific factors, including network developments, institutional demand and different liquidity conditions.

The most useful reading of the Fed decision and crypto market will come from comparing the four assets before the statement, immediately afterwards and during Thursday’s Asian session. That keeps the focus on evidence rather than assuming one announcement determines every cryptocurrency in the same way.
