Changing Automotive and E-Commerce Landscape with AI-Powered 3D Interactive Images & Web Viewer

Fueled by the collaborative contribution of a bunch of new-age technologies, several innovations designed by tech-innovators serve a great purpose across various industries. Amid this, the mechanism of 3D Interactive Imaging introduces the next generation leads for existing technologies like machine learning, computer vision, and cloud computing.

Fyusion is a pioneering provider of computer vision and machine learning technology which it uses to create a 360-degree interactive image from images captured from a smartphone by walking around an object. This technology is used by some of the biggest companies in automotive and E-commerce worldwide in their digital online sales as a way of presenting unique and high-value items such as used cars and lifestyle fashion images through their web and mobile stores. Core to this technology is how the application captures, processes and uploads these 3D interactive images to a large-scale web infrastructure and then enable users to view those images through the company's proprietary web viewer.

Pantelis invented the entire web-scale infrastructure that Fyusion uses to store and enable viewing of 3D images by over 150 million users per month across the globe.

Besides, Pantelis is the inventor of Fyusion's web viewer technology which enables viewing of the unique 3D images on over 200 browsers and every major mobile device. Critical components of the viewing experience that Fyusion offers include the speed of download and viewing of the 3D interactive images, as well as how it enables live interaction.

Pantelis' work powers key capabilities that enable the digital disruption in commerce, as many industries move from brick and mortar sales to online digital sales. Moving to online digital sales is most difficult for products that are high-value and unique. Automobiles are a good example of this.

In spite of the high cost of a used car, the unique characteristics of each used car, and the complexity of the purchase process, the used car buying, and selling process is moving inexorably to a fully online digital model. Being able to visualize each unique car in a way that is accurate enough that the buyer can trust what they are buying, while also enabling a highly engaging user experience is key to this move to online sales. Being able to view and interact with a 3D interactive image provides a key advancement in technology to enable this move.

Pantelis' innovation enables generating and viewing this unique 3D interactive image from any device or web browser and hundreds of millions of users can view this at scale.

Briefing about the potentials of Fyusion's innovation, Pantelis quoted, "A 3D image allows the user to move the object and to see it from any angle, to see the object in motion, and to have features of the object visually 'tagged' with additional information that is helpful to the buyer. He further added, "3D images are not limited to studio environments and can be used to realistically portray lifestyle content."

Challenges Addressed by Fyusion's Innovation

Pantelis' innovation faced a number of challenges including high-performance upload and viewing of complex images over a wide range of connections, consistent high-quality viewing of 3D interactive images across every type and version of browser and mobile device and operating environment, dynamic caching of viewer code and images to enable high performance, and high-quality image viewing with little impact on the customer's webpage source.

Strengthening Calibre with Strategic Partnerships

Fyusion has developed several significant relationships based on this technology including an investment and a strategic partnership with Huawei to embed the viewer in each Huawei phone. Fyusion's consumer application based on the Huawei-based viewer is used by up to 150 million users worldwide.

The plan further maintains an investment and a strategic partnership with Cox Automotive to provide an online digital application for merchandizing wholesale vehicles. Cox has since launched 2 commercial applications for this purpose and will continue to develop new products based on this technology.

Additionally, Fyusion also has an investment and strategic partnership with Itochu in Japan to provide Fyusion's 3D interactive images within their online e-commerce stores across a range of their fashion brands and properties.

While with Korea (and other countries), Fyusion has gained investment and strategic partnership with Lotte to provide its 3D interactive images within their online e-commerce storefronts.

The company has also received investments and/or strategic partnerships with numerous other unannounced partners in automotive and E-commerce to develop digital properties based on its technology.

According to Pantelis, this innovation was critical to the company's development and patenting of its core technology. It was also an important component of the Intellectual property that has led to investments of nearly $70 million by investors, with a market valuation of nearly $300 million.

An innovator at Forefront of Transformative Initiatives
