Truecaller has announced a partnership with Microsoft to bring the power of its Personal Voice technology from Microsoft Azure AI Speech to Truecaller's AI Assistant. With the integration of Microsoft Azure AI Speech's Personal Voice, Truecaller Assistant users may now record a digital version of their own voice for use within the Assistant.
Truecaller's Personal speech feature from Microsoft Azure AI Speech allows users to record a few seconds of their own speech to create a digital voice while setting up Truecaller Assistant. This implies that users who use Assistant on the Truecaller app may have their callers hear a reproduced and authentic version of their voice rather than one of the various digital assistants available.
“The personal voice feature allows our users to use their own voice, enabling the digital assistant to sound just like them when handling incoming calls. This groundbreaking capability not only adds a touch of familiarity and comfort for the users but also showcases the power of AI in transforming the way we interact with our digital assistants,” said Raphael Mimoun, product director and general manager of Truecaller Israel.
It should be remembered that Truecaller Assistant, which was released in September 2022, already has AI technologies that can automatically answer phone calls, filter calls, take messages, and record calls for later viewing.
Microsoft has announced that the personal voice capability of Azure AI Speech is now broadly accessible. This functionality allows users to develop and utilize their own AI voices in their applications. Personal voice can be used to create real-time speech translation situations in which the speaker's own voice speaks in a different language.
Last year, during the launch event for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, Google revealed that it will be improving its Call Screen function. Google demonstrated a scenario in which the AI answered calls on the user's behalf in a more natural manner.
