Comparative Analysis Of Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain: Use Case Of Moshnake.

IndustryTrends

Although Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain look very similar on the surface since BSC is a hard fork of the Go Ethereum (Geth) protocol, quite a few differences set them apart. While Ethereum has been in the crypto game for some time, Binance Smart Chain has only recently jumped onto that crypto bandwagon.

However, technically this is not entirely true as Binance, the biggest centralized exchange in the world, existed before but only in 2020 decided to drop its blockchain. Since then, many predicted it would subsequently challenge Ethereum's holy place as the blockchain for building NFTs and games.

Fast-forward to the present moment, Ethereum has not been doing too great, while BNB Smart Chain is gaining momentum instead. In today's editorial, we will compare both blockchains to see which is suited better for NFTs and gaming experience but looking at the up-and-coming project Moshnake. Let's dive in.

Binance Smart Chain: Overview

As aforementioned, BNB Smart Chain is a relatively new blockchain created for developing high-performance decentralized applications, gaming and NFTs. This blockchain is known for its interoperability within the broader Binance ecosystem. Indeed, users can quickly transfer their assets from one wallet to the other, easily trade BNB Smart Chain assets on multiple exchanges, and utilize them in a wide range of DApps. Another feature that makes this blockchain unique is that it is designed to be compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, meaning that it supports Ethereum tools and DApps (decentralized applications).

Ethereum: Overview

Programmer Vitalik Buterin conceived the Ethereum blockchain when he published Ethereum's White Paper in 2014. The young prodigy envisaged a blockchain that would give developers and creators complete freedom to build any application. As a result, in 2015, the concept of smart contracts was born with Ethereum as its vehicle and ether (ETH) as its fuel to power the subsequent development of DAApps.

Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain: Compared

The main thing that we have to compare is the transaction fees. BNB Smart Chain and Ethereum use a gas model for transaction fees, which measures the complexity of a single transaction. Overall, BNB Smart Chain has cheaper transaction fees and faster operations. However, we will have to see what 'The Merge' will do to the network, but so far, the gas fees for Ethereum remain intact.

Moshnake: Powered By The BNB Smart Chain

Moshnake is a new kid on the crypto block, which harnesses the power of nostalgia from the classic Nokia game snake and wraps it up in a blockchain shell. This is a Play-to-Earn (P2E) NFT game where players compete in a battle royale format while earning crypto along the way. The BNB Smart Chain powers this game in order to make minting of NFTs cheaper for prospective players. Although Ethereum still dominates the NFT market, sometimes, minting NFT costs more than the initial price you pay for your favourite JPEGs.

There are two primary tokens in the game, MSH and VEN, where the former token is used to purchase NFTs, which act as an avatar for your snake. Meanwhile, the latter is an in-game token that players must deposit to enter various tournaments. Each player will progress based on the ranking system, with weekly, monthly and yearly prizes for the top-tier snake players. The Moshnake has only recently entered its first stage of the presale, so be sure to check it out before it is too late.
