Siemens Energy is shaking up India’s T&D sector post-demerger: Should you buy?

Siemens Energy share price closed at ₹3,299 on June 19, 2025. This marks a 1.69% decline from the previous close of ₹3,355.80. The stock opened lower at ₹3,349.90 on the BSE. It hit an intraday low of ₹3,274 and a high of ₹3,385.

Trading volume stood at 320,486 shares, with a turnover of ₹10,581.17 lakhs. The VWAP (volume-weighted average price) was ₹3,338.10. Siemens Energy’s market capitalization stands at ₹1.17 lakh crore. The stock has a beta of 1.86, indicating high volatility. Its 52-week low is ₹2,450, and the 52-week high is ₹8,129.90.

Listing Follows Major Demerger from Siemens

Siemens Energy shares listed on June 19 after a recent demerger from Siemens Ltd. The demerger separated its power transmission and distribution (T&D) business. Shares are listed at ₹2,840 on NSE and ₹2,850 on BSE.

The stock hit a 5% upper circuit soon after. It touched ₹2,982 on NSE and ₹2,992.45 on BSE. The demerger was completed on April 7, 2025. Siemens Energy is now India’s largest listed pure-play T&D equipment company.

Strong Order Pipeline Supports Growth Prospects

Jefferies reported that Siemens Energy received ₹5,100 crore in new orders in FY25 so far. This compares to ₹8,800 crore in total orders during FY24.

The company’s order backlog is ₹15,100 crore as of March 1, 2025. That equals 2.4 times its FY24 revenue. Jefferies forecasts a 40% EPS CAGR for FY24–FY27. It believes Siemens Energy will benefit from India’s $100 billion-plus capital expenditure on transmission.

Analysts Remain Bullish with Upbeat Ratings

Jefferies has assigned a ‘Buy’ rating to the stock with a target price of ₹3,700. It values the stock at 55 times the projected earnings for FY27. Motilal Oswal has a target price of ₹3,000 for September 2027. It applies a 60x multiple to its EPS estimate.

Antique Stock Broking expects 22% CAGR in revenue and 30% in EBITDA. PAT is expected to grow at a 35% CAGR through FY27. Their target price is ₹3,179. They base it on a 65x valuation of FY27 EPS. HDFC Securities has also initiated coverage with a target price of ₹3,000. It highlights Siemens Energy’s strong execution and market presence.

Valuation Metrics and Trading Range

Siemens Energy’s TTM EPS stands at ₹73.14, showing 11.56% year-on-year growth. Its current P/E ratio is 45.14, which is below the sector average of 47.94. The stock trades at a P/B ratio of 7.66. It offers a dividend yield of 0.36% and a book value per share of ₹431.22.

The face value is ₹2 per share. Analysts remain positive. Out of 20 analysts, 45% rate it a ‘Buy’ and 15% ‘Outperform’. Another 20% suggest ‘Hold’, and 20% rate it ‘Underperform’. No analyst has issued a ‘Sell’ rating. Investors should monitor the key price levels before making any decisions.
