XRP Price Rebounds as Crypto Market Recovery Offsets Growing Selling Pressure

XRP price rebounded to USD 1.31 on October 19 as the broader crypto market recovered. However, rising exchange reserves, ETF outflows, and weak technical indicators continued to raise concerns. Traders are watching key support at USD 1.25 and resistance near USD 1.38.

XRP moved higher on October 19, trading near USD 1.31 as Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies recovered from last week's losses. The token gained roughly 1% over 24 hours, but that rise did little to erase its seven-day decline of about 7%. Traders also faced conflicting signals from exchange balances and US spot XRP funds. A sustained recovery remained unconfirmed.

Falling Oil Prices Help Lift Crypto Markets

The recovery extended the crypto market. Bitcoin gained about 0.79%, while the overall cryptocurrency market rose 0.71% in the same 24-hour period. XRP's slightly stronger performance came as buyers returned across digital assets.

Oil prices retreated, easing some concerns about inflation and supporting risk appetite in financial markets. Chinese economic data provided another boost: the country's economy expanded 4.5% from a year earlier in the third quarter. US stock futures and several Asian markets also advanced.

Buyers Return Near USD 1.27 Support

XRP had been losing ground before Monday's recovery. Buying activity increased as the price approached the USD 1.27 to USD 1.30 area, a range traders have watched during recent declines.

CoinGecko reported around USD 1.44 billion in daily trading volume, up approximately 49% from the previous day.

That increase shows more XRP changed hands during the rebound, but it does not establish how long the buying will continue. The daily Relative Strength Index stood near 38, below the neutral reading of 50. XRP also traded close to its seven-day moving average of USD 1.32. Both measures showed that the token had yet to recover much of its earlier ground.

Exchange Balances Rise While XRP ETFs See Withdrawals

Data from CryptoQuant added a cautionary note. Analyst CryptoOnchain reported that exchanges held roughly 11.81 billion XRP on October 17. That amount ranked in the 99th percentile of observed exchange reserves over the previous year. A larger balance means more tokens are available on trading platforms, although deposits do not necessarily lead to sales.

At the same time, leveraged trading activity contracted. Binance XRP futures open interest fell from about USD 538 million on October 4 to USD 453 million on October 17, a decline of nearly 16%. CryptoOnchain described the mismatch this way: "Leverage has reset faster than exchange supply has."

US spot XRP ETFs recorded approximately USD 1.84 million in net withdrawals during the week ended October 16. The result broke a 13-week run of inflows. Even so, cumulative net inflows remained close to USD 1.8 billion, according to the figures reported for the funds.

XRP Traders Watch Resistance and Ripple Swell

For now, USD 1.27 remains a nearby support level, with USD 1.25 the next price to watch if selling resumes. On the upside, analysts have identified USD 1.34 to USD 1.38 as a resistance area. These are chart reference points, not guaranteed price targets.

Ripple's Swell conference, scheduled for October 27–29 in New York, is another date on the market calendar. The event focuses on payments, tokenization and institutional finance. Whether it brings news that changes demand for XRP remains uncertain. Until then, broader market moves and flows into exchanges and ETFs offer clearer measures of the token's short-term position.
