Redmi 17 and Redmi 17 5G have been introduced for global markets, while the RedmiA7 is positioned at the lower end of the portfolio. Pricing and availability vary by market, with Malaysia among the first markets to receive the new devices.
The biggest highlight of the Redmi 17 series is its 7,500mAh battery, paired with support for 45W charging and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging. According to Xiaomi, the battery is designed for users who spend considerable time watching videos, browsing social media, or gaming.
Both models feature a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The main difference between the two Redmi 17 models is connectivity and processing hardware. The Redmi17 5G uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 platform and supports 5G, while the standard Redmi17 runs on the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra and is limited to 4G connectivity.
