Why is Quant Price Falling After a 300% Weekly Rally as Momentum Slows?

Quant fell below USD 290 after a weekly rally exceeding 300%. Daily RSI remained above 81, while lower trading volume and weaker hourly momentum showed slowing activity. The pullback followed Quant’s selection for The Clearing House’s planned tokenized deposit network.

Quant’s QNT token traded at USD 285.91, down 1.39% over 24 hours, after gaining more than 300% over the past week. The decline came as its daily relative strength index remained above 81, placing it in overbought territory. According to CoinMarketCap, QNT traded between USD 276.84 and USD 322.57 over the 24 hours leading up to October 1.

QNT Price Retreats After Weekly Rally

QNT’s daily decline exceeded Bitcoin’s 0.12% fall, while the total cryptocurrency market value dropped 0.26%. Trading volume for Quant also fell 6.26% over 24 hours. Together, the price and volume changes showed slower trading activity following the token’s rapid weekly advance.

The pullback followed a rally that carried QNT above its longer-term trading range. However, price movements alone cannot confirm whether holders sold to secure profits. The available trading figures show a decline after sharp gains, without establishing a single cause for the selling.

Meanwhile, the daily RSI stood at 81.06 in the price update and 81.43 in the Binance chart analysis. Both readings exceeded the commonly used overbought threshold of 70. RSI measures the speed and size of recent price changes. An elevated reading can persist during a strong rally and does not establish that a reversal will follow.

Short-Term Indicators Show Slower Momentum

The daily Binance chart placed QNT above its 20-day, 50-day and 200-day exponential moving averages. These averages stood at USD 155.61, USD 106.71 and USD 79.04, respectively. The gap between price and these averages reflected the scale of the recent advance, while the upper Bollinger Band stood near USD 302.12.

However, the hourly chart showed a different picture. Its RSI had eased to 55, while the hourly moving average convergence divergence indicator fell below its signal line. This combination showed weaker momentum over the shorter period, even as the daily readings continued to reflect the preceding rally.

Nearby chart levels included support at USD 284.54 and USD 279.75, with resistance around USD 298.67 and USD 303.19. A separate Fibonacci calculation placed levels at USD 286.64, USD 243.12 and USD 207.94. These calculations identify reference prices rather than guaranteed turning points. Higher resistance levels included the USD 330 - USD 343 range and a recent high near USD 373.

The difference between daily and hourly readings also matters when comparing the figures. Each indicator covers a different period, so a strong daily reading can appear alongside weaker hourly momentum. Neither reading, by itself, confirms the direction of QNT’s next price move.

Clearing House Partnership Provides Business Context

The rally followed a confirmed business announcement involving Quant. On September 24, The Clearing House announced that it selected the company to provide technology for its On-Chain Money Initiative. The planned network will allow financial institutions to clear and settle transactions involving digital versions of bank deposits.

Quant will connect the network with existing payment systems, including RTP and CHIPS. The Clearing House expects participating institutions to gain access in the first half of 2027. Its chief strategy officer, Sal Karakaplan, said, “Building interbank infrastructure for tokenized deposits requires proven technology that can scale.”

The announcement confirms Quant’s technology role in the planned banking network. However, it does not establish how the agreement will affect demand for QNT or explain the token’s latest daily decline. For now, the market figures show a sharp weekly gain followed by lower volume and weaker short-term momentum.
