Tinder's Latest Swipe: Double Date Feature for You and Your Bestie

Tinder’s double date feature is the Gen Z dating trend we didn’t know we needed

Tinder is taking the social route with the latest Double Date feature. Following Gen Z’s penchant for shared moments, now users can invite a friend to a double virtual date. There is a double opportunity for an adventurous night, more fun and casual than two friends can partner up to match and date another couple.

The app is already a success among young users. Double Date profiles were made by users under the age of 29, according to Tinder. These users account for almost 90 percent of all Double Date profiles. The new feature has had robust early figures, with Gen Z at the forefront of embracing this looser, group-based way of dating.

This is how it works: You swipe the Double Date button, team up with a friend, and swipe on other couples together. Only one of each pair of you has to like the other to match, and if it’s both of you, you’re placed into a group chat to begin chatting.

Women are three times as likely to find a Double Date profile appealing compared to a singles profile. Through this, group chat conversations have increased by 35 percent.

Almost 15 percent of those utilizing the feature are new or existing users, which illustrates the broad popularity of the feature. Double Date is now live in beta regions and will become available worldwide by July.
