Missed Post Trauma? Don’t Worry, The Game is Coming Again This Year

The surprise launch of Oblivion Remastered overshadowed indie horror game Post Trauma, prompting a re-release in June 2025 to gain deserved attention.

The surprise release of Bethesda Softworks’ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has hampered the release schedule of some games. One of the games that was massively impacted because of this is the indie horror title Post Trauma.

Initially, the Post Trauma created excitement among indie fans. However, on the same day, April 22, Bethesda dropped its remastered game, drawing all the attention toward it. The launch of this indie title was completely overshadowed. However, the developer still trusts his creation and decides to give the game another chance.

Post Trauma: A Second Chance for Recognition

Post Trauma was originally released on April 22, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This release was scheduled prior, but on the launch day, it coincided with the unexpected launch of Bethesda’s long-anticipated Oblivion Remastered.

This coincidence didn’t work well for Post Trauma. While Oblivion Remastered garnered massive attention, Post Trauma was largely overlooked by the gaming community. As per the reports, the Bethesda game reached 4 million players in around seventy-two hours.

In response, Raw Fury has posted an X video (formerly Twitter) where the team is shown researching the length and gameplay of Oblivion Remastered to set a re-release date for their game. As the post reads, “Good things come to those who wait, so we'll be patient.”

Post Trauma is re-releasing on June 23, 2025. At the end of the announcement video, the team mentioned, “Except We're Not Un-Releasing Before the Re-Release and It's Pretty Much the Same.” The developer’s goal is clear here. It wants the hype around Oblivion Remastered to be pacified before the game comes once again.

Post Trauma: Exploring the Depths of Psychological Horror

The PS2 era was the best era for horror games, and Post Trauma is designed to relive the classic horror games from the PS2 era. This puzzle-based horror game is designed to offer players a retro-focused style with modern improvements.

In this game, players will take the role of Roman, a middle-aged train conductor who transports to a twisted and nightmarish reality. The game features fixed camera angles, high-quality graphics, and immersive audio to create a haunting atmosphere.

The more players navigate through the game’s storyline, the more they will navigate unsettling environments, solve puzzles, and confront nightmarish creatures. This game emphasizes psychological horror over jump scares.

Though the initial reception wasn’t overwhelming, the reviews from players are quite positive. Players have appreciated the game’s modern yet nostalgic take on the survival horror genre. Hopefully, this re-release will bring an opportunity for the game to reach a wider audience and achieve the success it deserves.

Conclusion

Games generally don’t go for a re-release schedule. However, Post Trauma developers are optimistic about the game’s performance. The re-release of the game on June 23, 2025, will provide the gaming community the opportunity to dive into this wonderfully designed survival horror game to get a compelling psychological thriller experience.
