Valve’s Steam Frame VR headset appears close to launch after official setup videos leaked online. The videos surfaced through an ARM Steam Client update on August 19, 2026, showing the unboxing and setup process.
Users quickly saved the clips after Valve removed them from the client. The leak gives a clearer look at Valve’s upcoming headset and its retail readiness.
The leaked videos cover eight areas, including unboxing, headset fitting, IPD adjustment, Steam sign-in, and wireless adapter setup. Valve also demonstrates the Steam Frame’s ergonomic accessories and glasses spacer.
The headset can run games independently or stream PC games through its wireless adapter. Valve previously confirmed a summer 2026 shipping window for the device.
The Steam Frame features 2160 x 2160 LCD resolution per eye and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It also offers up to a 110-degree field of view and supports refresh rates through 120Hz.
The headset includes 16GB memory, with storage options reportedly reaching 1TB. Wi-Fi 7 and wireless PC streaming remain major parts of its gaming experience.
The leaked material also highlights an optional Ergonomic Accessories Kit for longer gaming sessions. The kit includes hand straps, a top head strap, and an extended light blocker.
Valve designed the wireless adapter for connections with PCs and Steam Machines. The setup process also requires a Steam account before gameplay can begin.
Valve has not revealed the Steam Frame price or exact release date yet. However, the polished retail tutorials suggest launch preparations have reached an advanced stage. Valve previously said both Steam Machine and Steam Frame would ship during summer 2026.
