Snap Launches Specs Intelligence for iPhone, Mac, AR Glasses

Snap’s new Specs Intelligence brings anticipatory AI to iPhone, Mac, and Specs AR glasses. It learns routines, goals, schedules, and relationships to surface useful information without prompts. The service is available as an iOS preview in the US, while Specs glasses cost USD 2,195 with shipping planned for the US, UK, and France.

Snap introduced Specs Intelligence, an anticipatory AI service for iPhone, Mac and Specs AR glasses. The company announced the service on September 16, 2026, from Los Angeles as part of its wider Specs launch. Specs Intelligence learns goals, routines, relationships and priorities from connected apps. It then surfaces useful information without waiting for a direct prompt.

The new Snap AI service aims to reduce routine planning across work, travel and personal tasks. Connected services can provide context that helps Specs Intelligence identify useful actions at relevant moments. The service also extends those capabilities into physical spaces through Specs AR glasses. Saying “Hey SPECS” can bring travel details, schedules and reminders into the wearer’s view.

Specs Intelligence organizes personal contexts through Corners and tracks longer-term priorities through Goals. Before meetings, the system can highlight decisions, questions and reminders from connected information. During travel planning, it can combine flight, hotel and dinner details with important schedule conflicts. These features give the anticipatory AI system a broader role than a standard chatbot.

The service does not require Specs AR glasses, with an iOS preview already available in the US. Adults aged 18 and above can connect Google accounts through the Specs app for early insights. The current preview uses Gmail and Google Calendar information, while broader suggestions are unavailable. Mac access currently requires an invitation through the early access waitlist.

Privacy remains a major part of Snap’s approach as Specs Intelligence handles personal information. Snap says employees cannot access connected personal content used by the service. The company also says connected content will not train AI models or support personalized advertising. The system combines on-device processing with secure cloud infrastructure for data handling.

Snap spokesperson Cassie Bumgarner described the technology as ‘a proprietary combination of open-source models hosted in the US alongside local LLMs.’ Snap says the model mix will continue evolving as development progresses.

The broader Specs launch adds enterprise partnerships with Salesforce, NVIDIA and Amazon Web Services. Salesforce brings Agentforce capabilities, while NVIDIA supports visual understanding and AWS provides voice-based workplace assistance. These integrations target field service, retail and other hands-free work environments.

Specs AR glasses cost USD 2,195 in the US and require a USD 200 refundable deposit. Shipping is expected to begin later this fall across the US, UK and France. Snap also plans a Los Angeles hands-on experience starting October 1.
