Microsoft is redefining personal computing with its new Copilot+ PCs, powered by revolutionary Agentic AI and more productivity-enhancing tools. The new capabilities transcend the usual user input, providing smart automation and effortless task completion.
Microsoft has made many resourceful changes, such as the AI agent that is available in Settings, improvements in Paint, Photos, and the Snipping Tool. Every day tasks are now easier, smarter, and hands-free. Rolling out first on Snapdragon-based devices, these innovations will be rolled out to Intel- and AMD-based systems shortly.
Microsoft is launching the new and revolutionary Agentic AI experience in the Settings app that offers intelligent automation across PC management. This AI will assist in:
Recognizing natural language input such as "how to control my PC with voice"
Offering recommendations or carrying out tasks such as resizing the mouse pointer
Automating configuration changes once the user has given approval
Providing human-like support that is context-aware for everyday settings or accessibility requests
Microsoft expects this AI agent experience, available first on Snapdragon-based Copilot+ PCs, to provide some help soon on Intel and AMD. It will launch as English-language prompts only.
The Click to Do tool is being enhanced with more features to drive productivity, such as the following:
Draft Word content using Microsoft 365 Copilot
Send tables to Excel from the screen
Convert highlighted text into bullet points
Practice using Read Coach to read aloud
Schedule Teams meetings from email
Open Immersive Reader for enhanced reading
Windows Search will now support natural language queries, making it easier and more efficient to find settings, apps, and even specific images in Photos.
The Photos app now has a Relight feature that allows for customizable lighting and preset effects.
A sticker generator from text inputs
Object selection for isolating and editing things
Perfect screenshot with auto-framing
A text extractor for copying from images
A color picker for precision design
These features will begin rolling out to Windows Insiders later this month.
The updated Narrator tool now offers detailed image descriptions, allowing blind and low-vision users to interpret complex images, such as charts and UI elements. This update is currently available for Snapdragon X Series Copilot+ PCs and will be rolling out more broadly.
Microsoft is releasing the 13-inch Surface Laptop and 12-inch Surface Pro powered by the Snapdragon X Plus chip. Both models will be available to pre-order in India and will be available on July 15.
Microsoft's Copilot+ PC innovations represent a fundamental transformation of personal computing. Through the unification of AI-enabled capabilities within essential apps and system utilities, Windows is more accessible, intuitive, and productivity-oriented.
The advent of Agentic AI represents a step toward PCs that not only execute commands but also respond to user intent with minimal resistance. With the phased rollout of features and early access via Snapdragon-enabled devices, this update puts Windows at the leading edge of the AI-powered user experience.
