Samsung smartphones yet again face a familiar glitch in which pink and green lines appear on the screen. This display issue has been associated with Samsung smartphones for quite some time now, in which the device starts acting up during updates.
The famous glitch resurfaces again as some Samsung Galaxy S23 owners report the issue on Reddit, Samsung’s community, and X after installing the One UI 8.5 update. Overheating during and after installing the software update has been a common complaint among many users.
Not all users experienced the display glitch, suggesting the problem may depend on the specific hardware variant or environmental conditions during installation. Since the issue is mostly triggered by overheating, users who live in hot and humid conditions in India and around the world may be at higher risk of being affected.
The most common solution suggested to prevent this is to keep the phone in a cooler environment during software installation. Samsung has yet to issue an official statement or a fix to this problem.
However, the company has a history of doing damage control. In December 2025, the smartphone giant replaced the displays on affected Galaxy S23 units. This time, the company has not yet confirmed whether it will cover the wave of complaints after the One UI 8.5 update.
