Samsung may roll out its next software update earlier than expected. The release of One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy S25 lineup is expected to begin by the end of April. According to media reports, the company is nearing the end of its testing phase.
Recent leaks claim that Samsung could start deploying One UI 8.5 as early as April 30. The update will begin with its home market, South Korea. A wider global rollout may follow within days, likely in early May.
This timeline comes earlier than previous expectations, which broadly placed the update in the second quarter of 2026. The latest information signals that Samsung has accelerated its release schedule. The update is expected to debut on the flagship products, which include the following:
S25 series
S25 Ultra
S25+
S25
Reports suggest that Samsung will start rolling out the update to Galaxy Z Flip 7, Z Fold 7, and the TriFold in the second week of May. The tech giant is likely to expand its lineup to include more devices, including the Z Fold 6, S24 series, and Z Flip 6.
These devices typically receive priority as Samsung finalizes stable builds. After the initial rollout, Samsung might extend the update to newer foldables and then older flagship models. A broader device rollout could continue through the following months.
One UI 8.5 also plans to bring updates based on an upgraded Android version. The update will feature AI improvements, improved animations, and other interface enhancements.
Regarding future plans, Samsung may implement updates to its virtual assistant and improve cross-platform support. This update aims to improve the user interface and user experience. Officially, Samsung has yet to announce the release date of this update.
