Samsung has launched the Galaxy A08 4G in India, expanding its entry-level smartphone portfolio with a large battery, a 90Hz display, and extended software support.
The smartphone runs on MediaTek Helio G99+ chipset and features a 50-megapixel primary rear camera. It also brings AI-powered features, including Google’s Gemini and Perplexity assistants.
Samsung Galaxy A08 is priced at Rs. 18,499 for the sole variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. The smartphone is available in Dark Blue, Silver, and Green.
Buyers can purchase the device through the official website, Samsung Exclusive Stores, authorized partner retailers, and other online platforms.
The company is offering no-cost EMI options for up to six months on eligible bank cards and up to nine months through partner non-banking financial companies (NBFCs).
Galaxy A08 features a 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD with a 720 x 1,600 pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Gorilla Glass 5 protects the screen, while the rear panel uses glass fiber-reinforced polymer. The handset also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.
The smartphone is powered by the 6nm MediaTek Helio G99+ processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Users can expand storage by up to 2TB through a microSD card. Samsung’s RAM Plus feature lets you use a portion of internal storage as virtual memory.

For photography, the Galaxy A08 has a dual rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. An 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.0 aperture handles selfies and video calls.
The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery and supports 25W wired charging. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It measures 167.4 x 77.4 x 8mm and weighs 197 grams.
Software and AI Features
Galaxy A08 runs Android 16-based One UI 9. It supports Circle to Search 3.0 and Google’s Gemini and Perplexity AI assistants, which users can access through voice commands or by long-pressing the power button. Additional features include Quick Share, Modes and Routines, and Samsung Knox security.
Samsung promises six major Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the smartphone.
